Vegetables from your own garden simply taste better

Planting your own vegetables and your own salads in the garden is something more and more amateur gardeners are trying to do. Not only because vegetables are getting more and more expensive on the market, but also because they simply taste better in their own garden. If you want to try it yourself, you should definitely observe the correct sowing times for vegetables.

Very early in the year you can start with carrots, lettuce, spinach and onions. March is the appropriate month for this. These four types of vegetables can still be sown until April or May.

Then it's leek in April and peas like to get into the ground in spring. Tomatoes are not part of the vegetables but part of the nightshade family, but we want to name them here, because they occur most frequently in German gardens: tomatoes should be sown in April or May at the latest.

May and June
May and June are reserved for beans, endive salad and kale.

Chinese cabbage is still on in July.

Radishes and spinach can be sown almost all year round.
