The best time for lettuce is in late August

Most of the salads should then be harvested fairly quickly, with the exception of endive salad that can be harvested until frost and radicchio and lamb's lettuce, both don't mind winter and you can harvest them until spring. Always ensure adequate protection against snails and rabbits.
