If you like raspberries, you can quickly and easily make a few more out of a few bushes and have delicious fruits that taste good for you every year.

Raspberries can be easily propagated

That's how it works:

  1. Use the shovel to pierce several root extensions. Make sure that the foothills are strong. The thicker the better.
  2. Now dig out these roots and shorten them to approx. 10 to 15 centimeters. Leave small, existing root runners on the cuttings.
  3. Now the root cuttings are placed horizontally in an earth hole and covered with earth.

This work should be done in October or November. So the roots can develop over the winter months and sprout from March. To protect the roots from the cold, you should apply a layer of mulch, which you should remove in time, however, so that the spring sun can warm the soil. This method works not only with raspberries, but also with blackberries. So you can easily grow many new plants and harvest delicious fruits.
